Immersive theatre companies

Our performance will be an immersive piece of theatre. I have researched some immersive theartre companies to gain inspiration and understanding of what immersive theatre involves.

Punchdrunk
Punch drunk are an immersive theatre company. They first started up in 2000 and they were founded by its artistic director Felix Barrett. Punchdrunk works on creating unforgettable pieces of theatre that break the boundaries of typical theatre performances. the audience are able to walk through the world of their productions, being bought into that world by the actors. it is left up to the individual audience member as to where they want to go or what the choose to watch. The set is always incredibly detailed, so that the audience can be totally immersed in the world of the show. The boundaries between space, performer and spectator are constantly shifting.
Quote from the Punchdrunk website- 'Punchdrunk works with producing and commissioning partners to create the unforgettable theatrical experiences of the future'

YouMeBumBumTrain
You Me Bum Bum Train is an interactive performance , which was created by Kate Bond and Morgan Lloyd in 2004. the audience is advisd not to research the play before you go to see it, because it is better to know as little as possible about the play before you go and see it. the play gained various awards, but has also caused controversy as none of its performers get paid.

I really like the idea of not knowing much about the performance before you go and see it. I think that we should take this idea for our own play. it will have more shock and impact for the audience if they don't know what to what to expect.
